Christmas Day – Open House and More

As part of our Celebration, we focused on bringing the spirit of Christmas – God’s Love – to as many as possible. Together with volunteers, (who gave part of their Christmas to help us, bless them) we put up a invite sign on our gate and served a special meal – complete with dessert – to anyone who came in. We sat with these dear ones as they slowly ate and savoured each bite. One man explained to us that he couldn’t eat too much at once, as his stomach was only accustomed to small meals. What a reminder to be thankful for our blessings, not least of which is having enough to eat. We gladly gave him and several others take-away bags of food. Their hugs and smiles warmed our hearts, and their happy, positive attitudes amazed us. Another team packed pots and trays of food into a car, and drove around the neighbourhood, serving food and cool drinks to those in need. Others took a meal to the local police and fire stations; a small way to thank these community servants for all they do throughout the year. It was a blessed day, full of joy and love, which is all we could wish for on Christmas. Jesus Christ said in the Bible “As much as you have done unto the least of these my brothers and sisters, you have done it unto Me” (Matthew 25:40)

Christmas – Township Event

Hundreds of mothers and children thrilled to the gifts of bags, toys, plastic cups, juice, onions, potatoes, carrots, bread, dried fruit, sweets, and a Gospel pamphlet! It is our hope and prayer that each of these families will experience a better Christmas because of this event. A big thanks to our sponsors!

Christmas – Children’s Convalescent Hospital

Our team brought toys to all the children of this convalescent hospital. The smiles from these dear little ones -many of whom are either orphans or will be spending Christmas recovering instead of at home – brought a real warm fuzzy feeling to our hearts. We know that a little love goes a long way, and our hope and prayer is that they felt that love through the interaction and gifts.

Christmas Time – A Special Event for 250 Children!

We organised an event for 200 children in Scotsdene, Cape Town, and brought along extra toys and sweets, just in case. In the end, there was enough for all 250 children – praise God! Each child got a little bag, a toy, a goodie bag of sweeties, and a packet of dried fruit. Amy also shared the story of Christmas with all the children, and the whole group accepted Jesus as their personal Saviour! What a happy day! A big thank you to the sponsors of the toys, bags, and goodies! You brought Christmas to a lot of little ones!
