From Him – With Love

The Lord supplied SO abundantly – more than we could ask or think (Ephesians 3:20) and much more than we could ever afford to do with our own ability – that we had an amazing time distributing food parcels to these many families in great need! Flour, cereal, tea, coffee, sugar, hot cross buns, apples, bananas, potatoes, carrots, onions, gemsquash, tissue paper, and Gospel tracts were all inside each parcel! We are also grateful to have had several volunteers join us, both for preparing and packing the items before event, and at distribution itself! Beginning of KKNK Outreach!

Exciting times! Please keep our team in prayer as they are in Oudtshoorn doing street outreach and followup during the KKNK festival! We are claiming protection, provision, souls saved, lives changed, and an abundance of Joy, Truth, Peace, and Light from Heaven to flow through onto each and every person met!

Run For World Down Syndrome Day

The 21st of March is World Down Syndrome Day. Once again, we celebrated it –as well as our dear Down Syndrome missionary, Timothy — by joining in the 6 km Tygerberg Fun Run. Timothy rose to the challenge and ran with his usual flair.

From young to older, each Helping Hand member gave it their all and received their well-deserved medals. Well done to all!

Blankets at the Perfect Time!

Hearing about us from friends, a couple decided to donate a whole van load of bedding, linens, and blankets for us to pass on to others in need! One of the places on our heart is a daily feeding scheme and homeless shelter, so we drove there with a bunch of blankets, as well as cooking oil, rusks, tea, and other needed items.

When we arrived and showed the lady in charge the blankets and items, she said in awe “we have no blankets left…none at all! Thank you!” We are so so grateful once again to see the Lord moving behind the scenes to touch other’s hearts to give to us, that we may give to those that need it. And all in the perfect timing! Amazing!

God Be With You – to Michael, Angela, and Sam

After many years of faithful service here in Cape Town and surrounds, Michael (Mike) and Angela – with their son Samuel – have moved to England. They have both served here faithfully for a lifetime (combined nearly 40 years!), and have been an integral part of our work and activities. We are so grateful for their love and faithful service for these many, many years, as well as their company and friendship through so many ups and downs.

A heartfelt thank you to both of them for selflessly serving and helping others alongside us – showing Jesus to many! They will continue to be part of our extended family, and will be sorely missed by our whole team here. We wish them God speed and continue to keep them in our prayers in this new season of their lives. Thank you Mike, Ange, and little man Sam! We love you, and God be with you, till we meet again.

Rural School Gets Stationary Supplies & Salvation Message

Through a series of miracles and open doors, we ended up at this beautiful zero-fee school, which serves hundreds of children from the farming communities towards Malmesbury. The principal and teachers welcomed us gladly, and understood our goal of not only handing out school supplies and lollies, but most importantly, giving a talk with a Salvation message to the whole assembly. Wonderfully, 291 children responded, opening their hearts and lives to Jesus! Then, classroom to classroom we went, giving out the treats and stationary packs, character-building Afrikaans posters, and tracts – as well as chocolates and Activated magazines for the faithful teachers. It was an amazing time!

“Mama” Rosie and the Children Receive Stationery Packs!

As soon as “Mama” Rosie – the founder and director of Baphumelele Orphanage in Khayelitsha – heard that we had stationery packs for not SOME, but ALL of the school-aged children she cares for, she began cheering and rejoicing and praising God on the phone! “Just yesterday” she shared, “the school was calling me saying how my children coming from the orphanage don’t have all the notebooks and things they need. And I was thinking oh Lord what must I do? And then YOU CALL!”

How wonderful! 121 dear ones from grade R up received their packs, and we were able to remind them how very Loved by Jesus they are. We were also privileged to have a long-term friend of ours join us at the event, and her loving grandmotherly care impacted out onto all the children in such a special way.
