Last night we enjoyed a special evening with our youth. We joined many other fans at the Grand West Ice Rink to watch the South Africa/South Korea ice-hockey finals.
Our teenagers cheered and clapped (and yes, so did we!) as South Africa played their best. One of us even got the puck as it made its way into the grandstands, just inches away from us.
After watching South Africa beat Korea we were able to get to talk to the team and get a picture with the captain. The final score was 4-1!
Well done South Africa! We had lots of fun and especially enjoyed this exciting experience.
A local farmer dropped off an unusual donation this morning- nearly 100 freshly harvested watermelons! What a treat they will be to many children! 
We were able to donate a wealth of educational children’s books in several African languages to a children’s outreach mission. The lessons learned through stories and illustrations are invaluable for children, and it is our prayer that having these beautiful colourful books available in their own language will bring these life-lessons home all the more. In addition to the books we were able to donate several school-desks.
One of our friends at a local quadriplegic center passed away this month; moving on to his heavenly reward and a life free from pain or physical restrictions. We joined a local chain store in donating the catering of the food on the day of the funeral.
