The 2016 KKNK Festival Outreach was a great success and wonderful opportunity to spread the message of Forgiveness of Sins, The Power of God, and the Eternal Love of our Jesus to thousands!
The final statistics from our team:
90 individuals accepted the gift of Salvation and received Jesus into their lives!
More than 8000 Gospel pamphlets were distributed!
232 Activated magazines given out.
60 people received Bibles and Gospels of John.
11 faith-building books for people to grow in faith.
Many more prayed for and encouraged!
A great resounding “THANK YOU” goes out to our sponsors and prayer friends, without whom this outreach would not have been possible. You share in the rewards of each soul saved, life changed, each individual (and every family) brought closer to Christ, and all the hearts reached with His Love!
Below are a few testimonies from the trip.
—————————————————————————-
– As I walked down the main road, I felt prompted to walk down a quiet side street. I crossed paths with a young man and offered him a Gospel pamphlet. He stopped to read it , and as he did I took the opportunity to ask him if he knew Jesus already. He replied humbly that he knew Jesus but that he hadn’t personally accepted him yet.
I took the opportunity to explain to him that Salvation is God’s free gift to us just as we are, and all we have to do is accept it. I asked if he would like to receive that gift and he quietly responded yes. right there on the street he bowed his head and accepted Jesus into his heart as his Saviour.
When we finished I asked if he needed a Bible and he replied that he had at home. I gave him some inspirational reading material, and he began to explain that he knew God had sent me that day. He explained he had grown up in a Christian house, and was part of a church, but had never given his heart to Jesus. He said that from the end of last year it was hard to explain, but he had started making bad choices and eventually he was battling with alcohol addiction. He said that because of his mistakes he had be feeling a yearning to be close to God, but was feeling like there was no way as had gone too far. Now that I had met him he knew that God loved him, and as I began to share verses on God’s unconditional love and care, his face began to brighten and he would finish each scripture with me word for word. It was a literal example of God’s word being a lamp unto his feet and strength to his bones! He thanked me again and again for being there and sharing the Word as it was just what he needed right then! Praise the Lord!
This whole while we were talking on a street corner in front of a clothing shop. As we were praying and talking, a young woman who worked inside came out a ways behind us to have a smoke. After a while I noticed her listening quietly. we finished speaking and parted ways and as I continued up the street I offered her a pamphlet. She looked very grateful for it ,so I explained what it was about and asked her if she had also received the Lord into her life yet. As she looked at the pamphlet she quietly replied no. I then offered to pray with her forĀ Jesus to come into her heart and she respectfully put out her cigarette and just like the young man before her quietly bowed her head and said yes to Jesus! Praise the Lord!
-A man cursed and waved his hand at a lady and I as he heard us speaking about the Lord. I had just given a Gospel tract to a passerby and found out that she was a believer and so I shared an Activated magazine with her and we began to speak about what we were doing etc.this man was angry and said things to the effect of, how can you speak about God? What does he do? I have nothing and what does He do?!? She turned and said in a kind voice in Afrikaans ”can I ask you a question?” “she began to explain Easter and how God had given us a precious gift though his Son. I also explained in my basic Afrikaans and with her help how Jesus knew what is was like to have nothing as He had nowhere to lay his head as the Bible says. All the while the man was standing a ways from us, but as we spoke he moved closer and eventually we ended up spending close to 40 minutes there together sharing the Good News of Easter; the Good news of God’s love! As the evening fell and the light faded this man who not long before was angrily cursing at us and complaining about God, bowed his head and asked Jesus to be his Saviour! as he opened his eyes he said in Afrikaans “thank you! Thank you! I feel so good inside right now! thank you for coming , thank you for sharing these words! thank you! thank you for the prayer!” we left him with a Bible and the Lady gave him her contact info as she was staying locally. it was so wonderful to see how the Lord loves and uses anybody as long as we are open and yielded to him!
-We were passing out pamphlets late one night when two gents sitting near a tree called me over and asked what I was handing out. After a brief explanation, they invited me to sit down and wanted to hear more. At first they would throw at me what they thought were “trick questions,” but the Lord gave me real clarity and I was able to reply with simple but profound answers. After speaking with them, we swapped details and promised to meet up the next day.
That afternoon I met up with the one gentlemen, while the other was busy during a work shift. We decided to sit in a coffee shop and start at the very beginning. He told me a lot about his life and past, where he had come from, and the decisions he had made that put him in the place where he now was in. While he was talking, I prayed, asking Jesus to help me encourage this young man who so desperately wanted a deeper connection with Him. I was able to pray for him, give him real counsel and show him portions of the Bible to read that will strengthen his faith. I also gave him some of our motivational materials, and signed him up to our weekly message sent via social media. We agreed to keep in contact, and to keep each other supported in prayer. During this time, outside it was raining BUCKETS! The entire town was flooded! And we had no idea! There we were, sitting in our little coffee shop talking about God, while the biggest storm that year was passing through! It reminds me very much of a picture I saw many years ago titled “Trust.” The picture was of a little bird sitting comfortably in his nest, singing happily; while all around him a fierce storm raged overhead, and the rivers over flooded. Isaiah summed it up quite nicely when he wrote: “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee.” (Isa 43:2)
-I saw a group of girls and women sitting under a tree. I handed them all tracts; asking if they had accepted Jesus as their personal Friend and Saviour. They said no they hadn’t. I was surprised that they hadn’t and thought that maybe they hadn’t understood me. So I asked them again, I got the same answer, 5 of the 11 hadn’t accepted Him yet. So I asked if they wanted to and after discussing it a bit all five prayed! I was able to leave them with some Gospel material and went on my way. I was sitting down a little later and they walked past waving happily. Half a minute later the teenage girl came back and said, We want to bless you with this pack of Doritos. I looked at her very humbled almost wanting to give it back as I thought it must have been a looked-forward-to snack. Then looking at her I realized how she was hoping that I would be pleased with the treat. I happily thanked her, telling her how much I enjoy Doritos. She then lit up with an even bigger smile and happily skipped away.
-Another man was standing by the railing looking at the river below, it looked like he was busy thinking. I asked if he would like me to pray for something and he said that he submitted his paper work to the municipality asking for a job, so he would like prayer that it comes though. So we prayed for just the right job to come through. And just as I was about to leave he gave me hug thanking me for the prayer.
-While out night witnessing some young women came out of a pub. I gave one of them a tract and told her “Jesus Loves You!” Suddenly she lit up and gave me a big hug saying, “Thank you for being there for everyone!” She was so appreciative to run into someone telling them of Jesus’ Love even at that late hour and location.
-We were able to give the police chaplain some of our Gospel tracts and she said, “Thank you very much, I’m so happy to have these to use! They make Jesus so personal!”
-While speaking with V, I asked if there was anything that he would like prayer for, he stopped to think. Then his son Matthew, looked at him with questioning happy eyes, like this was the chance he had been waiting for. V explained that his wife is suicidal and couldn’t be released from hospital yet because of her condition. We prayed together for her faith and a touch of God’s Love: when we were done they looked so very relieved.
-We were handing out tracts outside the concert area, there were so many people all so very happy for a tract. An elderly woman stood on the curb for a little while looking a bit confused, so I asked if she was waiting for someone. She said that she was looking for her car and thought it was in a certain direction, but it didn’t seem right. So we started asking for clues. The more questions we asked the more confused she was. So we opted for walking with her. Frank stopped to ask someone for assistance and the young lady said, Are you from Activated?. Turns out that shes a daughter of a lady we’ve met there on previous years! The elderly woman started picking up speed in walking and only remembered that she had a small white car and most of a license plate number. We walked together and we spotted her field and thankfully there were less cars parked by this time and we were able to help her find her car. Thank You Jesus for Divine intervention! She was so happy to have had someone with her and said thank you with a big hug!
