For Nurses Week, we packed 120 “appreciation parcels” comprised of a little box of chocolates, an Activated magazine, and a thank you card specifically designed for these special men and women.
These dear ones labour long hours and process a huge number of patients, many of whom need comfort, counsel, or special care. Yet they continue on cheerfully and faithfully, helping those who can’t help themselves. The surprise and thankfulness on their faces as they received their “Nurses Appreciation” was truly satisfying! And on a couple occasions, we were able to give a quick message of thanks to the nursing staff in front of the waiting patients, which was a lovely chance to publicly acknowledge all they do for others.
