We unexpectedly received a very unique donation; an state-of-the-art adjustable hospital bed, a wheelchair, walker, and commode. All brand new! The lady who gave them had originally bought them for her mother, who sadly passed away before she could use them.
As a legacy to her mother’s kindness and constant looking to help others, the daughter decided to pass them on to someone in need and contacted us. What a blessing!
On our weekly visits to a quadriplegic center we got to know A. an ‘ou tannie’ (auntie) with a heartbreaking yet beautiful story. Her daughter S. became a quadriplegic some time ago and A. decided to move into the centre with her; selflessly caring for and helping her daughter with her daily needs. Now she herself is in her mid 80’s and nearly bed-ridden and in need of specialized equipment, but with no means to get it.
“The Lord who sees in secret, rewards openly” (Matthew 6:4) and brought along the best of the best for this kind elderly mother. After years of giving of herself to see to her daughters needs, she now has all the equipment she needs to get around and be comfortable in her twilight years.
We are humbled and grateful to have been a small part in this chain of events and are especially thankful to K. for her generous donation. It’s acts like these that give hope and renew the vision to keep reaching out and helping others.
