We had an amazing blessed time in Lesotho! Most of our time was spent between 2200m and 2500m above sea level, visiting rural villages largely on foot, and bringing Gospel material and the Love of Jesus to as many as possible!
With no running water, electricity (except for a small generator every few days to charge phones) or dependable signal, it was a full-on missionary adventure, and very inspiring. We hiked and walked all over, backpacks full of material, and met so so many precious individuals.
There were also many things that brought tears to our eyes, like hearing that the women of the villages often develop arthritis in their hands from about 40yrs old, due to washing clothes in the freezing river water. Or, seeing children and elderly thin and worn, without immediate family and relying on the goodwill of the village at large to care for them. Even firewood – something we take for granted – is a luxury there, and used for cooking when available, never just “for fun.” Counting our blessings took on new meaning indeed.
Here are a few general pictures of the trip, including some of the views, material distributed, and living conditions.
