From Grade R all the way up, the children of this orphanage were thrilled to receive school items to facilitate their education! We love to be able to stress the importance of faithful study in order to reach their goals and dreams, as well as remind them that Jesus loves them very much. And in talking with “Mama” Rosie and the other staff members and hearing some of their recent challenges -, we are even more thankful for the timing of this chance to encourage them to keep going in their vital work of caring for these vulnerable ones.

One amazing testimony is that we had felt deeply led to get calculators to add to these children’s packs, and thanks to the kind discount given by the stationary suppliers, we were able to! But little did we know just how accurate that leading from the Lord was, until Mama Rosie saw the packs and tearfully exclaimed “you know, the local schools have been turning away some of the children, specifically because they are required to have a calculator and they didn’t have. Often they also discriminate against our orphanage kids because they have old uniforms, or are lacking something. These calculators and supplies make a HUGE difference to encourage our kids to keep going to school and learning with pride and confidence!”
