Elmon is a wonderful young man with all kinds of hopes, dreams, and talents. (he competes nationally and won medals in events for disabled individuals) He always has a smile or kind word for his caretakers or visitors to the centre, and is a great example of “rising above” circumstances. Being bound to a wheelchair for the last 20+ years hasn’t stopped Elmon from pushing towards his goals; and in recognition of his boundless cheerfulness and perseverance we were so pleased to be able to provide him with a desktop computer – complete with office, audio, and educational programs, as well as some fun games!
We installed a mirror in his room, and provided a heater. (as he didn’t have one) We were even able to bring new curtains!
As a lovely extra, we brought him a remote controlled car; a gift he can enjoy driving around the centre courtyard or at the park, and use to pass the time! (He is already quite good at it!)
