The children at our Sunday School all eagerly gathered around to learn on “we love Him because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19) and “Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind” (Matthew 22:37-40) and then to sign their names to a “Valentine for Jesus” card. One of the older boys who is a real young disciple in the community kept the card to preserve and enjoy! It was a truly joyful time!

Jesus’ Love Expressed for Women in Crisis
For Valentine’s Day, each of the ladies at a centre for women in crisis (at which we host weekly Bible studies) received a beauty pack, some delicious chocolates, and a Activated magazine with a special message of love and encouragement from Jesus. These dear ladies have so much going on in their lives and so many decisions to make – we are glad to be able to remind them that Love and Forgiveness is always available, and they are deeply valued.
A Clean Start
We were once again able to bless this rehab centre with needed items and Activated magazine issues for all the men seeking a fresh start with Jesus.
Our Faithful Dog Kaya Goes Home
Our sweet Kaya – who for the last 12 years was a faithful guard dog, loving friend to the children, and constant presence in the mission – went peacefully yesterday over to the Golden Shores. We are all grateful for the love and memories we shared with her, and look forward to seeing her again one glorious day. Thank you all for your care and prayers during this time.
Showing Love on Special Days
A long term friend who works as a car guard and comes faithfully for our Sunday fellowship came over for his son’s birthday, bringing with his two daughters and 7 other children. We had a wonderful time getting to show them love through our fellowship meeting, Sunday School, snacks, activities, and presents (plus, stunning brand new donated clothing for all the kids!). This was another special time of manifesting God’s Love in action, as these little ones got to enjoy themselves and the party in a safe and loving environment.
Supplies for a Homeless Shelter
We regularly bring foodstuffs, Gospel tracts, and other necessary items to this local soup kitchen and shelter – facilitating the great work they do to care for the “outcasts” of society.
A Helping Hand for Children’s Education
We helped this hard working family with needed school supplies for their children, as well as a parcel of foodstuffs.
Stocking up an Orphanage’s Pantry!
“Mama” Rosie and her staff faithfully run this orphanage in Khayelitsha, and we have partnered with them for nearly two decades. There are around 160 children at any time who receive care, nutrition, and education through this wonderful home, and it is a beacon of light in a truly rough area. This time – thanks to a special gift – we were able to stock up their pantry with many much-needed items!
