Ready made meals, oats, samp, maize meal, bottled ice tea, and fresh bread went to a local creche. With 40 young children, this underprivileged creche appreciates every bit of assistance. We are so thankful to be able to put smiles on these children’s faces!  

Later the same day we made our way to a different settlement-one mostly comprised of white and coloured residents- and handed out more of the rice, samp, meals,etc. We are so thankful for the phone call that came just in time to add top-quality meals and bread to our food parcels this day.

Part of last week was spent packing bags of rice, samp, and maize-meal for distribution to the residents of the Klipheuwel informal settlement. To add to the above we had bottled ice-tea and wafers for everyone, so that there would be something available to eat for them right away. As we were loading our three vans full of food we received an unexpected phonecall; asking us to come and pick up some ready-made meals. We quickly adjusted our schedule and sent one of the vans to go pick up the meals. What a wonderful surprise we got when we arrived there! Thousands- nearly three thousand in total- of prepared meals -some with steak, some with chicken- were waiting for us! We were also given bread, sandwiches, and muffins; hundreds of them! Only the Lord could have engineered the perfect timing of this miracle. Our third van, literally filled to the brim with meals and bread, joined the other two as we made our way to the township. We arrived at the perfect time to distribute not only rice, samp, maizemeal etc., but also meals and fresh bread to every person there.

Last month we picked up and allocated to our various beneficiaries over three tons (3000kg) of fresh fruit and veg. Thanks goes to Jesus and you our sponsors for making this work possible!

We received over 1½ tons of rice and maize meal this week. Having staple foods such as these to add to food parcels will be a great blessing to many. Here you can see two young volunteers packing the parcels for distribution.

For the last several years, we have been ministering to the inmates of several different prisons. These prisoners have had a completer turn-around in their lives and have given their hearts and lives to the Lord. We ask these men to make a commitment to follow our Bible course “The Twelve Foundation Stones” and send them the needed course-material by mail. They eagerly study the material, complete the tests, and faithfully return them. We’ve also sent Bibles, inspirational books, dictionaries, and other needed items. It has encouraged us to see that often the inmate participating in these studies will have such an obvious change of character that other inmates start writing us to request to also become a correspondent Bible student. From our communications with these men, most of whom we have never personally met, we can see that God’s spirit and the study of His wonderful Word is working beautiful changes in their lives. We have included two letter excerpts below for your inspiration: “My loving brothers and sisters, I can never ever thank you enough for being there to give clear direction on my spiritual life, Christian beliefs, and religious understanding. True brothers and sisters are like quiet angels, who lift us up to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly. The good loving friends are like the stars. You cannot always see them, but you know they are always there.
