Material and Machines – Facilitating a Sewing Enterprise
It was such a blessing and joy to see the happy faces of the ladies at this small business as we unloaded and showed them the materials we had brought. This sewing centre,- which is attached to an orphanage and charity operation in Khayelitsha – provides an income for some of the local familes, as well as a place to upskill young men and women…
Outreach to Schools! A trip of miracles
In our praying and planning, we felt led to go on a trip up towards Ladismith, ministering and witnessing at schools along the way, giving gifts of character-building and Gospel material, as well a Salvation message. The day before leaving, Amy got the inspiration to create a “heart skit”, illustrating how the only key to our hearts is True Love – not toys, clothes, or money. God bless her, she made the props and wrote the script all in that day before we left – come that evening, van was loaded and we were ready!
At some schools, we spoke to large assemblies, and at others, went classroom by classroom, doing the skit, offering Salvation, and distributing the gifts. We also had material for the faculty of each school!
Celebrating Women; Scarves and Handbags for Orphanage Staff and Teachers
We are really thankful to have been able to uplift these faithful carers and teachers at an orphanage and a school in Khayelitsha; gifting them scarves, handbags, and chocolates! Unbeknowst to us, the day before we handed over the items, there was a fire that damaged part of the building. In such a frustrating and difficult time, these touches of care meant even more, and we rejoice in God’s timing and provision.
Celebrating Women’s Day; Breakfast and Gifts for Women in Crisis
For Women’s Day, we wanted to take the ladies from a crisis centre out for a special breakfast – something to spoil them and remind them how valued they are, in spite of how they have been treated in the past or how others perceive them. And the miracles just started rolling in!
Beautiful soaps, jewelry, chocolates, and many other items came in from various sources, and the bags were packed full of amazing gifts! We went to the restaurant, and set rose bouquets, name places, and a Scripture by each seat; making it as special of an event as possible. Then -without our asking! – the restaurant management got involved…

These donated digital pads are just perfect for all these learners in underprivileged schools! They can be used and reused over and over – for drawing, sums, writing, and more! In the classrooms we had a chance to share a short message on the Love of Jesus, and leave Gospel tracts as well. Special days!
