Gifts for Severely Disabled Children

Smiles, laughs, and happy looks came from the dozens of children at a centre for the severely disabled; our team having arrived with soft toys for each child. Time was spent playing, blowing bubbles, and interacting with these lovely children – most of whom are unable to move, wash, or eat on their own. Only a few can even speak. It was a true joy to celebrate God’s eternal love for every human being, and we were blessed ourselves just as much as we intended to bless them.

Kids and Youth Perform For Elderly and Disabled

The children and youth of Helping Hand were invited to perform a show for about 200 elderly and disabled residents of a home in Scottsdene, Cape Town. The young performers did wonderfully, and the elderly were moved with the spirit of Christmas through the children’s sincere singing and performance.  These precious residents of the care home need lots of love and appreciation for the roles they played (and play) in society, and we are glad to have brought some of that to them during this special time of the year.

Preschool Educational Supplies and Games

Dozens of children from a preschool enjoyed a morning of games and fun – blind man’s bluff, pass the hat, musical statues, and more! They each got a school backpack to start off next year with, as well as educational books, colouring pages, crayons, sweeties, and ice cream. We all had a great time, and are grateful to be able to be a part of their education and bringing joy into their little lives.

Youth Music School Concert

Our youth participated in the year-end concert for the Western Cape Music Education Project. The project  is run by volunteer teachers, enabling disadvantaged children and young people to learn to play, read, and enjoy music. The event – held at the Sarepta Secondary School – was a great success and all the students played beautifully! We are so proud of them!
