Our youth team’s time at the Hermanus Whale Festival was greatly blessed; they came back full of joy and testimonies! The immediate results of the 4 day outreach are: 67 individuals gave their lives to Jesus! Dozens of Activated magazines, colour posters and Gospels of John distributed! 4400 Gospel tracts handed out on a one-on-one basis! Many others prayed for, encouraged, and details exchanged with. Our sincere appreciation and thanks go out to each of you who supported, prayed for, and were otherwise a part of this outreach. You share in the rewards and blessings! Please see below some photos and testimonies! (Michelle) Amy was handing out tracts a few meters in front of me for a bit and then we met and were handing out tracts together. I saw a man she gave a tract to and he seemed like he was thinking about the tract. I asked if he accepted Jesus, he explained that he grew up learning about his ancestors and learned what their destiny for him was, but had not heard very much about Jesus and what His destiny for him was. So I explained, about God and how He had Jesus come and pay for our sins as we aren’t good enough to go to His home in heaven. Just then a couple of people passed and asked me for some tracts, they took them and happily went on their way. I wasn’t able to speak with them as I was already talking with someone. Now it was Amy’s turn to talk with them as they had caught up to where she was. I continued speaking with this man and he eventually prayed and asked Jesus into his heart. I then explained the Bible verse: By this shall all men know that you are My Read the full article…

Extra Treats for an Orphanage
More than 100 children at an informal settlement orphanage were surprised to receive a very special treat – whipped cream and rice crackers! Although not a main dietary item, these extras make for huge smiles and the knowledge for these little ones that they are loved. And that’s what matters. An excerpt of a thank-you letter from Rosie – the orphanage’s founder and director
Duck Distribution
Here are a few pictures of our recent distribution of a load of donated duck meat. Our thanks go out to our donors; because of their generosity many centres- including soup kitchens, quadriplegic homes, community upliftment centres, and orphanages – received meat, which is a needed staple.
Fresh Fruit and Veg for Needy Community
The morning spent with this dear community – giving fresh fruit, bread, and vegetable parcels to hundreds of families – was well worth it, and a great reminder of how a little love goes a long way in our troubled world.
Miracle Apples!
(As told by T) “Tomorrow we will give food parcels to about 700 people”, was the thought running through my head. “We have potatoes, carrots, soup, etc. but wouldn’t it be great to give every person a nice, fresh apple?” With that in mind, and trying to keep costs to a minimum, I started looking for the best place to buy them. I found a supermarket with a pretty good deal on apples and off we went. After loading all the apples on sale in our trolley we still needed more so I started adding all the none-sale apples as well. I was thinking’ “Well, we can’t show up with apples for some people, so even though it will cost a lot more we’ll make sure to have enough for all. As I was standing in line for the till a young couple with two small children stood in line behind me. “Go ahead of me.” I said, pointing to my enormous load of apples. “This will take a while.” They looked at my trolley with questioning eyes and I explained we were going to give these apples to all the residents of a local town-ship the next morning. The lady smiled “What a nice gesture!”, she said and went to the till in front of me. The manager helped me scan through the bags, making sure everything was in order. Then, just as the last bag of apples was scanned, the husband of the family in front of us walked back to us, gave the till-lady his credit card and said; “I want to pay for the apples!” Wow! I didn’t know what to say. I just thanked the man, with tears in my eyes gave him a big hug, and praised the Lord for His wonderful supply and for Read the full article…
Soup for Students
Hunger is a great distraction if one is meant to be concentrating on studies. Because of this, foodstuffs like crackers and instant soup make a real difference to those striving for a better life through education. We are privileged to be a part of their forward progress in this simple way.
Educational Material, Food, and Kitchenware to Support the Start of a New Project
There is a place off the highway between two towns where even the taxi service doesn’t run. There is no clinic, no church, no school. Some of the residents of this settlement walk for 3-4 hours just to get to their workplace, and then back again. It’s a hard and unforgiving location, but not without hope. And hope has sprung in the form of a preschool centre set up by a dear woman who has a vision for the future. She plans to build a whole community area eventually – with the structures and services that are presently missing. We are so glad to have been able to assist her and the project with educational materials for children, a set of quality kitchenware, and foodstuffs for both the children and the community members. Those in the settlement can “earn” a food parcel by doing their part to keep things clean, work in the startup vegetable garden, or assist in other ways. In this way they are both benefited and a benefit. God bless this lady and others like her who work to make our world a better place, one step at a time. We look forward to partnering more as time goes on.
