For many years since first meeting at a Grahamstown Festival Outreach, Michelle has been following up on and ministering to this dear gentlemen “V.” He’s mentioned that he passes on our devotional audios to many of his contacts, and that so many people look forward to receiving them weekly. He also gives out Gospel tracts regularly to customers and strangers alike; sharing with them the truth he has learned. So this visit, we were excited to equip him with a whole box of tracts, Activated magazines, and other devotional books to use in his own witnessing and winning efforts! What a joy to see our teaching and training bearing fruit and leading to others spreading the Gospel as well! (2 Timothy 2:2)
Fresh Milk for the Children! (After Milk of the Word)
After their Bible lesson, each of the children at our Sunday School enjoyed cold fresh milk on a hot morning! We rely completely on donations of funds and in kind to keep running, and are extremely grateful for this gift of milk which made them all so happy!
For Keeping Clean, Happy, and Healthy!
Two quadriplegic centres and a safe home for women in crisis received special eye-and-face safe sanitizer, coffee, tea, and big bales of tissue paper! Supplies for a happy new year!
Happy New Year!
We don’t know what the future holds, but we know who holds the future. The things we need to know, the Lord tells us, and sometimes the things we want to know, He tells us, but most of the time He throws a veil over the future so it is known only to Him—and that really keeps us close to the Lord.
He’s promised to never leave or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20 KJV). He’s also given us the torch of His Word to show us where our path is going. “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).
More than 500 Christmas Food Hampers for Families- plus Toys for the Children!
In the middle of the very busy Gospel outreaches of the season and our full time members being stretched in every direction, it was lovely to have some volunteers come to help distribute two vans and two cars full of Christmas hamper items to over 500 people! Together we prayed with the crowd before beginning, and then the activity began in full! One by one down a long long line, we gave out potatoes, carrots, apples, oranges, cereal, rusks, tea, coffee, goodie bags, sanitizer, and toys for the children! It was a wonderful success, both in the volunteers being able to hands-on share His Love, and the many many younger and older that received a physical touch of that Love.
Putting Christ Back into Christmas for the Children of Wolverivier
What a privilege to be invited to partner with an initiative for the children of Wolverivier area, specifically to bring Christ into their Christmas event! The organizers reached out to us, knowing that we are missionaries and do our weekly Sunday School in the area. They had the gifts, games, and snacks ready, and asked if we could come to the event to tell the Christmas story and give an altar call; which we could not be more thrilled to do!
After all the little ones and teenagers were gathered, Chris spoke to them on Christ’s great Love and the message of hope and Salvation that Christmas brings! Then, the children who had not done so yet had an opportunity to accept Jesus as their Saviour, which 160 of them gladly did! How wonderful! Each one also received an parallel English and Afrikaans “Christmas Long Ago” booklet to read – plus a CD with the story narrated on it!
A Joyous Celebration with Toys, Talks, and Treats for Hundreds of Children
At two different communities, we organized events for hundreds of children! First we unloaded many boxes of toys, goodie bags, and more! Then Angela and Mike gave Christmas messages and presented the opportunity to these dear ones to accept Jesus as their Forever Friend and Saviour – with many responding wholeheartedly! (240 in total!)
In one of these communities, the families don’t even have electricity, and this was absolutely what made their Christmas. All those that received are from very low or no income families, and could not afford the Christmas extras! But the Lord wanted to show His Love for them in this way! One by one interacting with the sweet children – and giving them their toy, treat bag, and sanitizer to take home – we were reminded of the words of Jesus “Let the children come unto Me … the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)
Christmas Day: A Three Course Meal for the Homeless!
As part of our Celebration, we focused on bringing the spirit of Christmas – God’s Love – to as many as possible. We put up an invite sign on our gate and served a special three course meal – complete with dessert – to anyone who came in.
Another team packed many trays of food into a car, and drove around the neighborhood, serving food to those in need. The reactions were so beautiful! We are so grateful to have been on the ground, spreading Christmas Love to these dear ones.
We also took a meal to the local police station; a small way to thank these community servants for all they do throughout the year. What a Merry Christmas Day!
