It is especially difficult at Christmas for those who barely have enough to survive, much less celebrate. We’re so grateful to have been able to bring a bit of Christmas joy to two desperate communities through the distribution of food, all kinds of toys, lovely sponsored luxury treat bags, and Gospel material for adults and kids!
The dear children at this low-budget creche were overjoyed when we arrived with boxes filled with presents, goodie bags and booklets for them.
We had previously asked the teachers for a list of the children’s names and ages and the little ones almost couldn’t believe it when we called them, one-by-one, with a gift just for them! …
Never before have we seen such joyful reactions to the gifts we brought for the women at this crisis centre! (at which we hold a weekly Bible study)
In their Christmas hamper was a box of chocolates, some inspirational reading material, some other goodies, and a brand new handbag!
Each bag was chosen with a specific lady in mind, and they turned out to be even more perfect than we could have hoped for! One lady exclaimed that she had actually looked at the EXACT bag she was now given in a store the week before – yet knew she could not afford it. Another loved the design and style of the bag she received. And so it went for each one. What we could never have known in such detail, God did; the desires of every heart. Seeing their reactions, there was no doubt about how thrilled they were!
We have been getting ready for multiple projects over the rest of the season, which will reach total about 2000 children with goodie bags and a Gospel message! These will bring such joy to a whole lot of little hearts! Thanks to all who make it possible through giving and volunteering!
A little overview of our day to day over the last weeks. Centres, community events, families, orphans, young, older, all given what help we can together with a Message of the Love of Jesus.
We visited schools in rural areas, and spoke again and again, presenting to many children the message of Salvation, and giving them the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Saviour. Wonderfully, many, many did! (over 1600 children!) We were also able to leave each child with an educational character-building DVD or instrumental Christmas CD, & a Gospel tract!
These outreaches were so clearly led of the Lord, because as we started out we didn’t even know which schools to go to – we were led simply to drive towards certain areas. Turning down unknown streets, we would suddenly find ourselves in front of a school! This happened over and over again, and everywhere we went we were welcomed and received gladly! We were also blessed to have gifts and Gospel magazines to leave with the teachers at each school. Before departing, we prayed with them for anointing over their continued efforts to instruct and guide the generation of tomorrow’s leaders!
– Over 1600 children accepted Jesus as their personal Saviour and Forever Friend!
– 1400 educational character building and Gospel DVDs were given out
– 600 Christmas music CD’s distributed
– Gospel tracts given to as many as possible!
We had such a busy and invigorating time preparing for and hosting this large scale distribution of over 500 food parcels!
Cereal, flour, sugar, fruits, potatoes, carrots, rusks/tea/coffee, various treats, tissue paper, sanitizer, and Gospel material!
(more than 80% of these items were directly donated, without which we could never have accomplished such an event!)
Praise the Lord!
We made polony sandwiches and peanut-butter-jam sandwiches and gave them to 80 children in two communities. What a simple joy to uplift these little ones and remind them that they are Loved.
