Change the World – Projects of 18th July 2019

On the 18th of July, we partnered with two local businesses to bring some love and cheer to the residents of Klein Akker – a mixed settlement with over 100 families in dire need. Our deepest thanks and recognition go out to the generous kindheartedness of the businesses – one which brought boxes of household toiletries and prepared boerewors rolls over the braai, and the other which showed up with several bakkie-loads of staples such as tinned food, rice, samp, flour, long life milk, bread, and more! The participating staff members from both companies were enthusiastic and helpful; a pleasure to work with! Each family received a large parcel (almost too heavy to carry) of foodstuffs and toiletries, to which we were able to add bananas, oranges, apples, a Gospel tract, and a goodie bag of sweeties for the children!

The whole event was an amazing time of making an impact in the lives of these dear ones – both through the physical assistance, and the reminder that they are loved and valued, just as they are.

Another team went to an underprivileged creche, bringing each child their own Afrikaans character-building story and colouring book. We also had some large fun and educational toys for all of them to enjoy, and which they immediately began playing with! We enjoyed their smiles, laughs, and the knowledge that they will continue to benefit from their books and toys for a long time to come.
