The children of a convalescent hospital in Athlone were overjoyed to see us when we arrived with presents for each of them. (Presents donated by a local business) We went bed-to-bed, interacting with these dear little ones: some of whom are seriously ill and may not be on this earth for much longer.

Each of the wonderful staff members also received a gift bag and a fruit cake; unexpected gifts which deeply touched them.

It really reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas – LOVE – and how very much we all have to be thankful for.
