In the space of just a few days, the Lord provided, through various sources, a whole lot of extra food – leading us to pray about who it was meant to go. Then, in the morning, we were given over 1,000 kg of potatoes! Wow!
We felt led to do a food distribution to families in a nearby informal settlement the same afternoon; and what an amazing and busy time we had! The wind was blowing, and sand whipped up all around as over 700 people….
We held a memory competition for our Sunday School children, at which they each came aside to us teachers one at a time and quoted as many verses as possible in 30 seconds! (these are verses they have been memorizing one by one over many Sunday Schools.) The results were impressive and so much fun! We were so proud of how well each of our dear students did! The top three kids received a notebook with all our Sunday School Scriptures to date, and a sticker for each verse quoted to decorate it with. They are all eager for the next time!
On a farm near Villiersdorp, we had a very blessed time giving a Salvation message to the workers, and then handing out hygiene packs – as well as a “From Jesus With Love” book in Afrikaans for each one! We were also able to equip the on-farm creche with character-building posters in Afrikaans. And special extra, just a half hour before leaving that morning someone donated 4 delicious cakes, which we brought to the creche as well. Jesus is awesome!
We have been having very fruitful and inspiring times over the last months witnessing on the streets and varsity campuses. Many receive Gospel tracts, Bibles, Activated magazines, and other potent spiritual literature aimed at discipleship and a radical life focused on Jesus. We are often able to meet up again with those encountered for more discussion, counselling, prayer, and study of God’s Word.
On a daily basis, food parcels and vanloads of needed items are delivered to soup kitchens, care homes, orphanages, shelters, and families. These foodstuffs and items always come with Gospel material and a message of Hope and God’s Love.
The team witnessing during the Whale Festival in Hermanus has a great and blessed time! Younger and older received the message, and all kinds of discussions were had. 56 Bibles, Activated magazines, and other books were freely given to help individuals grow in faith, many were prayed for on the spot for various requests, over 3000 Gospel tracts were distributed, and 15 decisions were made to accept Jesus as Saviour! We are SO thankful to the Lord and all those that make this possible.
